Asean Johnson is a mere 9 years old, a student of Chicago Public Schools. When Chicago Mayor Rahn Emanuel decided to close about 50 schools recently (mainly in the black community), Asean definitely wanted his voice heard as part of the opposition. It is always important that youth be involved in the issues directly facing us. We must be part of the solutions–and some of us WANT to be!
