Members of the Ma’at Youth Program closed out summer with reading to the pre-schoolers at the Urban League Head Start. The Love-a-Book Project was funded for the second year with a mini grant from the St. Louis Mental Health Board. Ma’at youth visited daycare centers to encourage reading. After reading to the little ones, the 3-5 years olds were able to choose a book of their liking. This is our favorite part–watching the kids swarm around the table full of books with colorful covers, picking a book and going back to their seat with pride. Their very own book!
