Jamala Rogers was politicized as a youth in the 1960’s. From a student activist in college, she went on to joining youth in organizing around issues that impact them. As an adult, Mama Jamala has been a key leader in advocating for the political rights and power of young people from the streets to the legislative halls.

Veii Zayd Kauaria, Veii was selected as the Amani Fellow to organize young people around the issues of poverty, racism, militarization. Born of parents from Namibia and South Africa, Veii has traveled the world and has a unique perspective on these issues. The fellow will be shared between the Youth Council, the Organization for Black Struggle and the Peace Economy Project.
